Abrolhos Islands Fishing Charters

The Abrolhos Islands are renowned for exceptional fishing, with opportunities to catch a variety of prized Western Australian species including dhufish, coral trout, wahoo, pink snapper, baldchin groper, spanish mackerel, tuna, squid and many more depending on the season and conditions.

No. When fishing aboard an Abrolhos Island Charters vessel, recreational fishing licences are not required for guests. All fishing is conducted under the appropriate charter fishing requirements.

No previous fishing experience is required. Whether you are an experienced angler or trying fishing for the first time, the experienced crew will provide guidance, assistance and local knowledge to help you make the most of your time on the water.

All essential fishing equipment is supplied, including quality rods, reels, tackle and bait. The crew will ensure you have the right gear for the fishing conditions and target species. If you would like to bring your own please feel free.

Guests should bring comfortable clothing suitable for the weather, a hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, enclosed footwear, personal toiletries, swimwear, a towel, a camera, any personal medication required, and a sleeping bag. It is also recommended to bring a reusable water bottle. Check the 'What's Included' page for additional information on what to bring.

Air-conditioned wheelhouse and accommodation area. Two onboard toilets and showers. Choice of sleeping arrangements, including bunks below deck or stretchers and swags on deck under the stars or undercover.

Most fishing charters are 5 days in durations, it can vary depending on the experience you choose. Options can include multi-day fishing adventures, allowing guests to explore different fishing locations around the Abrolhos Islands. We also cater for research and teaching opportunities these charters vary in length.

Safety is always the priority. The experienced crew monitors weather conditions closely and will make decisions regarding departures, itineraries and fishing locations to ensure guests have the safest and best possible experience.

Yes, where regulations allow, guests can keep their legal catch. The crew can assist with handling, cleaning and preparing your fish so you can enjoy the rewards of your fishing adventure. Your fish is processed on board and will be kept frozen till you return to port. We recommend you bring an esky for transport home.

Meals on charters are supplied. Morning tea with cakes and biscuits. Buffet style lunch. Fresh fruit. Tea, coffee and drinking water supplied. Eskies available for storing your own drinks and snacks. BYO alcohol. Please notify us of any dietary requirements at least a month in advance.

Your private charter includes the vessel exclusively for your group, experienced crew, onboard amenities, spacious entertaining areas, Bluetooth sound system, BBQ facilities, cold storage, air-conditioned areas and access to water activities including stand-up paddleboards and inflatable water toys.

Cruises can explore the beautiful Swan River and surrounding waterways, with options including scenic river cruises. Other destinations include Carnac island and Rottnest Island. We can customised itineraries based on your group's preferences and the conditions on the day. There are varied points of pick up and drop off.
